Terms of Service
Effective date: March 11, 2026
1. The Service
MotorCalc is a professional software tool offering AC motor winding calculators, wire selection tools, a motor catalogue, and calculation history management. Access requires a paid subscription. We offer two plans:
- ▸Pro Monthly: A recurring monthly subscription granting full access to all current features. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
- ▸Lifetime Access: A one-time payment granting perpetual access to MotorCalc, including all future feature updates and improvements released during the lifetime of the product.
We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time. For Lifetime users, material reductions in functionality will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
2. Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@motorcalc.io if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person. You may not share your account credentials with others or allow concurrent use of a single account by multiple individuals.
3. Payment & Billing
- ▸All prices are displayed exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- ▸Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card data.
- ▸Pro Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same calendar day each month. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you by email. Access will be suspended after 3 consecutive failed payment attempts.
- ▸You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for all amounts due under your selected plan.
- ▸Prices may change with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers. Price changes take effect at the next renewal cycle.
4. Cancellation
Pro Monthly subscribers may cancel at any time through their account settings or by emailing support@motorcalc.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then and will not be charged again. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. See the Refund Policy for full details.
Lifetime Access purchases are non-cancellable after the 14-day refund window described in the Refund Policy.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- ▸Use MotorCalc for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
- ▸Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the calculation algorithms or source code.
- ▸Share, sublicense, or resell access to MotorCalc to third parties.
- ▸Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the service.
- ▸Upload or input data that is malicious, offensive, or designed to disrupt the platform.
- ▸Impersonate another person or organization.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, calculation algorithms, software, and design elements within MotorCalc are the exclusive property of [COMPANY NAME] and are protected by copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights — only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own professional purposes during the period your plan is active.
You retain ownership of the motor data and calculation inputs you enter. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the service to you.
7. Disclaimer of Liability — Calculation Results
Motor winding calculations involve complex physical variables — including material tolerances, manufacturing variations, thermal behavior, and load conditions — that cannot be fully captured by any software tool. The accuracy of all results depends entirely on the accuracy of the input data you provide.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- ▸Calculation results must be reviewed and validated by a qualified electrical engineer or motor rewinding professional before being used in any real-world application.
- ▸MotorCalc is a decision-support tool, not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, field testing, or compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEMA, IEC, IEEE).
- ▸You assume full responsibility for any design, rewinding, repair, or manufacturing decision made using or influenced by results from this application.
- ▸[COMPANY NAME] shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or reliance on any calculation output, including but not limited to motor failure, equipment damage, personal injury, financial loss, or production downtime.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to MotorCalc. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure events, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary outages. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime. No compensation is provided for downtime periods.
9. Account Termination
By you: You may delete your account at any time from the Profile settings page, which will permanently remove all your data.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for more than 24 consecutive months (Lifetime accounts excluded from inactivity termination). In cases of violation, no refund will be issued.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of MotorCalc after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION, e.g., the State of Florida, USA], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in [CITY, STATE], except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
